Beautiful classical Roman statue of Venus by a mid-century Italian sculptor Gino Ruggeri In good condition, this beautiful Italian Roman statue on a black marble base, created by sculptor Gino Ruggeri from Italy. The material is a mix of Resin or Alabaster. Ruggeri developed a method of mixing alabaster with resin to make it more durable and waterproof. The offered statue is a great example of this technique. At the back the name of the maker, g. Ruggeri and R.G. at the bottom are marked with two labels, of the maker and the factory where they come from. Measurements: 21 cm x 5.5 cm x 6 cm base Diameter. Background information: Gino Ruggeri is one of the most well-known Italian sculptors in Italy. He worked for many years for Tito Bianchi in Bianchi's Factory in Tuscany, Italy. Condition in accordance with age and use.
