Description

This auction is for a very unusual and vintage 11 1/4" walleye by Tim Spreck. It is made from a single piece of walnut and the fins are hammered, patinated copper. Tim's decoys are featured in the reference book FISH DECOY MAKERS PAST AND PERSENT and were also shown in a special interest segment on the Antiques Roadshow. This decoy is in excellent, original and never used condition. It has carved gills, a carved mouth and glass eyes. It is hand made and hand finished. The maker has signed, dated the bottom 2002 and also numbered this fish #183 as seen in the photo. Tim Spreck decoys that are finished in natural, varnished walnut are pretty rare with only a few being made.
