Our Pro Slip tips have been taking down Cobia, tuna, Wahoo, White Sea Bass, Cubera snapper and Big Amberjack for a long time and they are currently being used by members of the Men's U.S National Spearfishing team. Each tip is hand fit to the base. They have virtually no wiggle on the base but they deploy every time. Mori dyneema is used to secure the slide ring to the tip. The tips do not have a welded-on tab that will eventually corrode but rather a slight taper to aid deployment. We recommend a dab of blue Loctite when installing. 5/16-24 threads are typically found on 8mm or larger spearshafts while 6mm threads are typically found on shafts smaller than 8mm.
