Description
Alabaster marble bust from the Art Nouveau time period signed by the sculptor Angiolo Malatovi (1876-1947) entitled “Iris.” The bust depicts an allegory of the iris flower, which is considered one of the most iconic symbols of art nouveau because of it was so widely used, beloved in the time for its grace and sensuousness. A must for the true art nouveau lover! Stamped with foundry mark on the underside of Schumacher & Co. (Osterode am Harz, Germany). Base has a repaired crack on the backside, it is not visible from front.
