Description
Here we have a beautiful hand made, carved wood Sucker, from Michigan. Circa 1940's. The Fish presents with metal fins, and a stylishly sloped nose, carved gills and sucker mouth. Painted a lighter grey all over, a battleship grey, with an abstracted dappling effect of mottling of greys and black applied along the sides and back. Red accent paint is applied to gills and mouth.8 1/2" long. The Fish is in good condition, with signs of use or ware, having some of the darker dapple paint work chipping away, thereby exposing the pale primer undercoating. I can't help thinking this Fish has been painted with Navy Surplus paint after the WW II war. All original and intact. A piece of History from the North Woods of Michigan.. I have adding a small packing and materials cost to the shipping fee.
