This auction is for a very collectible and vintage 6 1/4" trout by well known Minnesota maker David Perkins (deceased). I bought this directly from David around 25 years ago. He called it a "bowling pin" trout based on the round body style. These were made in three sizes and this is the largest of the three sizes. This size is pretty tough to come by. It is signed DFD (Duluth Fish Decoys) in the belly weight. It has carved gills and carved tail fin features. Each gill carving is lined with three small brass tacks and the eyes are glass. It is also finished with the older, textured paint. The open mouth really gives this great looking decoy a wonderful personality. The condition is beautiful, original and never used with the makers special patinated finish that simulates age and wear. It is signed with the makers DFD mark in the belly weight and is guaranteed to be authentic. I combine shipping on auctions that end the same day. Pease wait for the invoice before making payment.
